Some smells linger for months however much you clean. Smoke, pet urine, damp, food waste, mould and previous occupants can all leave odours that soak into carpets, curtains, plaster and ventilation, where ordinary cleaning can't reach them.
We remove them with ozone. Ozone (O3) is a naturally occurring gas that breaks down the molecules causing a smell, rather than masking it. We fill the space with ozone, and once the treatment is finished it breaks back down into oxygen.
We treat homes, rented properties between tenants, holiday lets, offices, commercial kitchens, and cars, vans and caravans.
What you get
- Removes the smell. Ozone breaks down the cause of the odour instead of covering it with fragrance.
- Reaches soft furnishings. It gets into the carpets, curtains and ventilation that cleaning can't.
- Ready to let. Landlords and agents use us to clear odours before new tenants move in.
- Any size of space. From a single room or a car to a whole house, office or caravan.
Severe cases
After a fire or heavy pet contamination, we can add surface cleaning and fogging to the ozone treatment.
How a odour removal job runs
Assessment and advice
We inspect the space, find out what's causing the smell, and tell you what to do before we start, like taking pets out and sealing off areas.
Ozone treatment
Our commercial ozone machines fill the area with ozone, which breaks down the odour molecules in the air and in carpets, curtains and ventilation. Nobody, people or pets, stays in the space while it runs.
Airing out
Most treatments take one to three hours, depending on the size of the space and how strong the smell is. Then we ventilate the property.
Safe re-entry
We tell you when it's safe to go back in, usually a few hours after we finish, and how to stop the smell's source coming back.
Questions we're asked
How does ozone remove odours?
Ozone (O3) breaks down the molecules that cause odours by oxidising them, including those deep in fabrics and surfaces. It doesn't cover a smell up, it removes it at the source.
Is ozone odour removal safe?
Yes, when it's carried out by professionals. Nobody, including pets, can stay in the treated area while it runs. Once we've aired the property out, the ozone has turned back into oxygen and the space is safe to use again.
What smells can ozone remove?
Smoke, pet urine, mould, food, waste, and biological odours such as body odour and vomit. It's also useful after a fire, a flood or pests.
How long does the treatment take?
Most treatments take one to three hours, depending on the size of the space and how strong the smell is. You can go back in a few hours later, once we've aired it out.
Will the smell come back?
Only if its source comes back, such as active damp or repeated pet accidents. If the source is dealt with before the treatment, the odour won't return. We'll advise you on this when we inspect.
Can you treat cars or small spaces?
Yes. We regularly treat cars, vans, caravans, garages and single rooms within a property.
What customers say
Had a full team and they were amazing. Can not believe the difference - the roof tiles 35 years old now look brand new and the 5yr guarantee means no more moss or clogging of drain pipes. Am super happy and they cleaned up so well - and there was a lot to clear up. Windows and gutters all sparkling.
“We had a 4 man team for 2 days cleaning the exterior of the house. Every member of the team was friendly, approachable, professional and worked to a very high standard. The team turned up on-time, got their equipment set up and went to work. Couldn't be happier with the service; the attention to detail and end result speaks for itself; one of my neighbours even came round to enquire about having their house done. I highly recommend Blue Shield; you wont be disappointed.”

“2 day clean carried out on a very large residential roof. The results are outstanding and the house looks new. The team were polite and friendly and explained everything they were doing across the 2 days. Also had 2 slipped tiles and a broken tile that were all fixed too. I would highly recommend Blueshield!”
